We ate well tonight thanks to the generousity of good people this week. Venison, Hen of the Woods, hardneck garlic become a truly local ragu --
from these fields...
from these woods.
They were hunted, gathered, harvested and prepared by hand.
In that spirit we came together to share and give thanks. It was a feast for the soul, warming deep, even as the wind blew in an earnest chill -- the kind of sustenance that fortifies a traveller on the eve of a journey.
