dig

I work in big ... and by that I mean nothing more than that every accomplishment is buried in piles of small pebbles of shining moments.  I am an excavator.

collecting

...feather that I found in last weekend's travels and the last of the current round of spore print photos because I left them on the floor (best light in front of the patio door) and the dog walked through them -- should have looked harder for the spray adhesive...

company

I sat in the field keeping company with the end of the day and watched as the sun's light fell sideways, casting ripples of gold over goldenrod -- before it fell behind the trees, casting long shadows and otherworldly glow -- before it left me completely.

the story i heard

simple

I've never really been smart enough to get TMBG (like yeah, I know jason and the argonauts and they were greek and something but let me google it and get back to you) so I love this song just because every time I hear it, it makes me happy, plain and simple.

(and while you're at it

wanderations, books, and other good stuff

My newest co-worker writes:
"I can't be sure this is the list I would come up with given a week to think about it, but it's the list I come up with on the spur of the moment. These are five books I read again and again."

The Sun Also Rises* -- Hemingway

The Great Gatsby  --Fitzgerald

One Hundred Years of Solitude -- Garcia Marquez

The Long Goodbye -- Chandler

The Dead -- ("I hope novellas count") -- Joyce

*'The Sun Also Rises'. Boy, that's real profound.
--Sam Malone

Welcome back to the classroom, Mr. Chef K -- It's a pleasure workin' with ya!
